We are proud to announce our partnership with the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team , a Swiss UCI ProTeam at the highest level of road cycling. Pragma’s On Key Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) will play a key role in managing Q36.5’s assets, thereby contributing to top performance on and off the road.
“Running a professional cycling team is comparable to managing a complex business,” says Doug Ryder, General Manager of the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. “What sets us apart is our obsession with performance and actively contributing to a sustainable future, for people and the environment.”
Doug Ryder is a South African Olympian and former professional cyclist. He previously managed Team MTN-Qhubeka, the first African team ever to participate in the Tour de France. With his experience managing professional teams, he understands the operational challenges of professional cycling in various countries.
The collaboration came about when Scott Gibson, CEO of Pragma, saw an opportunity to simplify and optimize the team’s logistics and the maintenance of supporting physical assets. “Professional cycling demands precision, not only in performance but in everything involved,” explains Scott. “By using On Key EAMS, we support Q36.5 in efficiently managing the vehicle fleet, among other things.”
Digital solution for improving operations
Throughout the season, the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team utilizes a mobile hub to supply everything the cyclists need, from transport and nutrition to technical equipment and medical care. Asset maintenance is managed via On Key EAMS, ensuring vehicles and critical components remain in top condition.
“One of the basic principles of successful business operations is the effective management of assets,” says Scott. “With On Key, we can proactively plan and manage maintenance; from vehicle inspections and fuel checks to ensuring clean and functioning water systems. This not only increases reliability but also minimizes the impact on the environment.”
The team uses On Key for, among other things, inspecting vehicles for damage and checking lighting and fuel tanks. These checks ensure that the fleet is roadworthy, complies with regulations, and is immediately deployable in Europe.
Future-proof maintenance for a winning team
Jean-Pierre van Dongen is the team’s facilities & fleet manager. He emphasizes the benefit of On Key: “With one central system, we streamline all vehicles and maintenance tasks. Entering and tracking work orders is easy in On Key, and we have insight into completed and ongoing maintenance. It is a game-changer for us.”
In addition to fleet management, On Key is used for the maintenance of items including refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers used in the mobile hubs. The software provides insight into the performance and costs of the assets so that Q36.5 can make decisions regarding replacements or upgrades.
Doug adds: “We are determined to move up the rankings and qualify for the World Tour and all the major races, such as the Tour de France. As we now prepare for a challenging new season, On Key will play an important role in ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. We are excited about On Key and the potential to expand it, such as centrally managing our bikes, including parts.”
